We’re spoiled for choice in London, every week there’s a new restaurant in town that promises to change the way we dine forever. Some hit, some miss. New concepts are being created here in the city, it’s very exciting stuff. You can literally eat the globe here, from fusion to traditional let’s look at the coolest concepts in London at the moment:
Thanks to Alex Cooper, we now have an underground restaurant in Walthamstow. Sitting in a Victoria line carriage and feasting with strangers is surely an interesting way to spend your evenings. We love the concept, it’s like living out a London fantasy.
The first rule of Gingerline, you don’t talk about Gingerline. Afraid we’ve already broken that rule with no regrets, this is one of the weirdest and most wonderful experiences London has to offer. And London knows it. Because London keeps booking all the slots. And London doesn’t like to share. So Gingerline is always sold out. If you’re lucky to get a slot, do not cancel, do not flake, you will not regret going. Art, design, theatre and food portrayed and experienced in the most unique of ways.
Every now and again a culinary concept pops up and surprises us all. Kitchen Theory is one of them, headed up by Chef Jozef Yusuf (formally at The Fat Duck) Kitchen Theory explores multi-sensory dining and creates culinary experiences that are backed by science and culture. He recently spent three months in Mexico researching every aspect of Mexican cuisine to create a 10-week Mexican pop-up in Maida Hill Place, that included crickets and worms, the protein of the future, as they like to put it.
From Voodoo Blues in Roxx Club to setting up shop in the Little Yellow Door, these guys know how to throw and have a good time. The food served is never the same, it’s always exciting and never repeated. If you can catch these guys, make sure they immerse you in a culinary experience so you can see their true power.
London, there is always something to learn with you, thank you for never being boring and always expanding our horizons.
